In 2009, Italian scientists set out to prove whether or not a penis enlargement device could be effective or not. There were (and still are) significant critics of the devices, mainly due to the aggressive and sometimes dishonest marketing techniques of the penis enlargement industry. So many placebo products had been offered to men looking for a longer penis that there was significant bias in the scientific community that a penis enlargement device could not significantly lengthen a penis.
The scientists chose one of the most common brands of penile extender for their study. They asked fifteen patients to test the device over six months to see what effective gain the penis enlargement device would have. The patients wore the device for six hours daily (or at least four hours daily), as specified in the manufacturer’s guidelines. The researchers asked the patients if they felt and discomfort or adverse reaction to the treatment to contact them immediately.
After six months the average gain in length was 2.3cm, a significant amount that is comparable to the length gains surgery can offer. The penis enlargement device had had no effect on girth over the six month period. After a further six months of not using the device, there was no significant change back to a smaller penis length.
A questionnaire was also performed, and showed that the patients were happy with the comfort and duration of the treatment, and also the results they gained over six months.
In summary, despite numerous claims for uninformed sources that penis enlargement devices were ineffective, when a research study was completed effectively it showed that a penis enlargement device can have significant gains compared to surgery. This can be a boon to those men who wish to extend their penis without undergoing painful and dangerous surgery.
